I went to Maria's Italian course in Ruvo last Easter, it was a great holiday, I cannot recommend it too highly. We stayed in a beautiful hotel - the swimming pool was a great place to unwind after sessions - and spent four or five hours of enjoyable learning every day. Maria's course book introduced us to Italian life as well as language in a very entertaining way. Then we were free to visit the charming old town and talk to many of Maria's friends, ranging from the local baker who had discovered part of the old Roman Trajan Way under his shop floor to the family who owned and ran a fabulous museum of local antiquities. The surrounding countryside is lovely - typically mediterranean with olives and vineyards....
