Method
The Italian language course is taught in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Maria’s approach is relaxed and interactive, with students learning some of the basic knowledge needed to survive in Italy. The student-centred, communicative approach will emphasise speaking and listening skills through a variety of language activities and games.
The aim is to teach ‘useful’ Italian and students will be encouraged to use the Italian they learn throughout the weekend even outside the ‘classroom’ environment.
The Guest House provides a perfect environment to practice the ordering of food, asking where the loo is and other snippets that students can actually use when visiting Italy.
Learning materials
Students will receive a course book that includes exercises to complete whilst on the weekend and later in private study. There is also a CD that will cover some of the listening exercises and a verb table to help get to grips with Italian grammar.
